Connectivity

  1. i2c In (via 3.5mm): The CVC is built around i2c chips which communicate at a 440kHz data rate. This TRS input accepts i2c data Slim Continuums, ContinuuMinis, the EaganMatrix Module and the EaganMatrix Micro.

  2. i2c In (via DIN5): Alternate input through the unused pins of a Midi cable, for older Thick Continuums and the ExpressiveE Osmose.

  3. Voice Activity Led: Lights up when performance data is present on a particular voice.

  4. Voice Number: The CVC can be uniquely configured per Preset.
Single CVC: Normally up to 4 voices, each voice with 4 discrete outputs.
Single CVC Optional: up to 2 voices, with each voice having 8 discrete outputs.
Dual CVC: Normally up to 8 voices, each voice with 4 discrete outputs.
Dual CVC Optional: up to 4 voices, each voice with 8 discrete outputs.

  5. Midi Thru Output: Any Midi data present in the DIN5 input will be passed through to this TRS Type A output.

  6. Power Indicator: Bright blue when powered on.

  7. W Outputs: Configurable, normally assigned to gate (W).

  8. X Outputs: Configurable, normally assigned to pitch (X).

  9. Y Outputs: Configurable, normally assigned to timbre (Y).

  10. Z Outputs: Configurable, normally assigned to pressure (Z).

Additional Features

Wide Range Pitch Bend Support
8 octaves (96 half steps pitch) at full Continuum output resolution (1 cent), with 16-bit Digital-to-Analog converters on all individual control voltage outputs.

Integrated and Optimized Output Filtering
The Continuum updates parameters at a much higher rate than a standard keyboard. Finger pressure update rate is so fast that the updates can make an audible pitch on a standard Midi-CV, requiring external filtering. The CVC has been designed with this in mind, and as such requires no external filters for digital noise suppression.

Dynamic Base Voice
The CVC’s Base Voice feature allows you to enable subsets of CVC outputs. For example, you can patch four different monophonic patches, and switch between them during a performance.

Midi Data Playback
The CVC can output control signals originating from data fed to the Continuum’s Midi input. This allows a Continuum performance to be captured and played back from a Midi sequencer, pass through the Continuum to the CVC, and control your analog modules or synthesizers.
