The Next-Generation MPE+ Electronic Instrument
Over 40 years in the making, designed to be as musically rewarding as an acoustic instrument.
The Continuum’s unique sensitive playing surface seamlessly interfaces with the powerful EaganMatrix Sound Engine for a truly organic playing experience. The Continuum ships with over 500 presets, each of them a unique interaction with sound!
Passion in Design and Build
Hand-built and calibrated with the utmost attention to detail in both hardware and software.
Designed by Dr. Lippold Haken and hand-built by Cameron Fuller in Champaign, Illinois, each Continuum Fingerboard is meticulously assembled for optimal quality. We operate like a premium guitar craftsman would, building in small numbers, carefully crafting instruments with love and attention to detail.
Independent Control Dimensions
Each finger on the Continuum is uniquely sensitive to pitch, pressure, and front-to-back position.
The Continuum tracks each finger individually with microscopic accuracy, using up to 12 independent Hall-Effect sensors per finger. The analog output of each sensor is digitized by ultra-high speed A/D converters. A typical note played on the Continuum will have data from hundreds of thousands of Hall-Effect samples, allowing for exponentially more accuracy and sensitivity.
When a violinist plays a note, the note always starts slightly out of tune. A skilled player will very quickly slide into the appropriate pitch. This split-second correction is a major reason acoustic instruments sound so soulful and alive. With a Continuum it is possible to experience the same magical interaction!
